NVIDIA G80 like core integration up to 500 million transistors

Currently on a new generation of NVIDIA Geforce 8 series graphics card and G80 display the core of the message is not much. The next generation flagship product G80 has been successfully out of sample, but the specific release date has not been determined.

It is pointed out that the launch date of G80 will be later than expected. Because NVIDIA think Geforce 7950GX2 is enough to deal with the upcoming release of ATI Radeon 1950XTX, so G80 did not face a lot of pressure, at least until the end of September we will not see this card. Since the ATI R600 is expected to be launched by the end of 2006, NVIDIA's G80 may appear in similar time.

It is understood that G80 will follow the Geforce code, belonging to the future of the Geforce 8 series. The initial release of Geforce 8 will only high-end products. Relative to GF7, the architecture of Geforce 8 has changed considerably, with its core integrated with up to 500 million transistors, which will become the world's most sophisticated semiconductor chip.

It is reported that G80 will use GDDR4 memory, support DirectX 10 but may not support all of the characteristics of 4 Model Shader. G80 may not use a unified rendering architecture but comply with the Vista premium standard. Currently, NV has not yet revealed the final frequency of G80 and other details.
