North American lighting exhibition debut LED lighting a hot anomaly

Lightfair is the largest North American lighting project exhibition, the exhibition tour in each of the two city of New York and Las Vegas, 2005 Lightfair Jacob Javits Convention Center held in New York exhibition center. With an area of over 110000 square meters, there are nearly 3000 booths, exhibitors from all over the world, all kinds of lighting sources, indoor and outdoor lighting, lighting systems, etc..

LED in the early 1907 as Round discovered by GE in 1960, and its commercialization. Early LED because the brightness is not enough, can only be applied to non visible light (infrared) or visible light transmission indicating two categories, but in recent years due to the emergence of the blue LED and the brightness increased dramatically, the application field of LED into the light.

LED work mainly by virtue of electrons and holes in semiconductor N type and P type in the active layer (Active Layer) combined, converted into electric energy released. The active layer material changes (such as InGaN, AlInGaP, GaAs etc.) electromagnetic wave can make LED emit different wavelengths of light, generally the wavelength and the active layer material can bring about (2 emiss=1239/Eg), the wavelength distribution from 400nm 700nm blue to red, rather broad range, greatly expand the application space of solid lighting source. Application of LED in illumination, except with light color also has the advantages of diversification, energy saving, small volume, long life (100 thousand hours), low pollution, high elastic module design space is wide, and many other advantages, so the major lighting manufacturers are optimistic about the future potential of LED, as the lighting industry star.

LED lighting landscaping and advertising billboards

LED widely, and its application in illumination (Figure 1) can be roughly divided into architectural landscaping, advertising billboards, electronic devices, lighting, automotive lighting and indoor lighting, which reflects the technical threshold and time according to the different application. 2005 North American Lighting Exhibition, LED lighting exhibits focus on building landscaping, billboards and indoor and outdoor lighting three parts.

LED in addition to beautify the appearance of the building, but also play an important role in interior design, using the advantages of rich colors, expand the design changes. LED expanded to outdoor lighting source
