Meet the lighting needs high luminous efficiency / service life become the focus of development
In the case of NASA's night sky map, for example, the highlight of the display as artificial light source, and the United States, Japan and China can find many bright spots. In the United States, for example, electricity consumption accounts for 1/3 of the overall energy supply in the United States, which accounts for about 1/5 of the proportion of electricity, which is lighting demand in the overall energy supply accounted for about 1/15.

Similarly, China is located in the temperate / subtropical, general building summer air-conditioning demand, the power consumption of the air-conditioning in the proportion of energy supply, lighting ranked second, accounted for 21.5 to 30.5% the proportion of power consumption, the observation from the above data, it is not difficult to find a large amount of lighting power consumption.
In order to save energy consumption, high luminous efficiency and long life is a lighting tool more urgent, reviewing the lamp often cannot meet the needs and easy to burn out; and the fluorescent lamp is now widely used because belongs to linear light source, illumination light source to provide a large area and uniform. At the moment, with light, thin, soft, transparent and other characteristics of the OLED lighting becomes suitable for large area lighting, with uniform brightness of the new darling. Different from the light emitting diode (LED) and fluorescent lamp, OLED can adjust the brightness and color, and is suitable for situational lighting.
According to the direction of light emission, the lamp can be classified as a directional light source (Directional Lighting) and a diffuse light source (Diffusive Lighting). The former is applied to the lamp and the display lamp, while the latter is suitable for general public occasions.
According to the needs of the lighting division, the need for diffuse lighting is a large area of the lighting needs, OLED is suitable for such applications. On the other hand, the luminous efficiency, experts pointed out that the higher the more power saving efficiency, lighting luminous efficiency only below 20lm/W; energy saving bulbs luminous efficiency is about 20 ~ 40lm/W; and fluorescent lamps currently used for 40 ~ 100lm/W, the light source products are gaseous type light source, and the future trend solid state lighting source era, solid-state light source refers to the so-called such as light emitting diode (LED) or OLED.
According to statistics, LED luminous efficiency can reach 100lm/W, OLED is still in the development stage, the maximum can reach 102lm/W, high luminous efficiency of both solid-state lighting up even up to 200lm/W, with such a high luminous efficiency, is expected to become the future mainstream lighting.
The many advantages of a set of OLED lighting
OLED lighting products is still at the stage of development, but its advantage is still not only have to be bent, be too numerous to enumerate, soft features, such as any candy in thin paper OLED lighting holes, but also the normal nondestructive shiny, even can be arbitrarily cut, so he could break the bulb from happening.
Experts said that the same solid-state lighting LED, in the face of the light source lighting applications, at this stage still need to use the production of diffusion plate or light guide plate, but it will make its high luminous efficiency decreased from 100lm/W to 30 ~ 70lm/W. In contrast, OLED Lighting does not require the use of diffusion plate or light guide plate, but also to achieve high luminous efficiency, which is a big advantage (Table 1).

On the other hand, on the technical level, LED heat, the need for cooling mechanism, but OLED lighting is not required. If the observation of the OLED lamp and the fluorescent lamp lights, fluorescent lamps can be found in the temperature from room temperature to 50 DEG C; OLED lights lit after the temperature only from 20 degrees to 30 degrees higher, users can avoid dangerous hot, more in line with the consideration of safety.
OLED lamp in the transparency and heat dissipation effect, thin has a high product advantage, LED currently has a higher luminous efficiency and mass production, but the luminous efficiency and service life than OLED difference (Figure 2). Overall, OLED lamps have the advantage of high luminous efficiency, suitable for large area surface light source, fast switching speed, regional phenomenon and for the light source, such as a preference for warm color light source, the area of Asia, such as Japan, China and other places to love more bright white light, OLED lamp can also be adjust the color with various colors of demand. Furthermore, the material is soft, easy to cut, thin shape, and low drive voltage and other characteristics, quite in line with environmental requirements.
