Samsung DDR2 chip manufacturing process all transition from 90 nm to 80

According to foreign media reports, the world's largest memory manufacturer Samsung in August 29th (Tuesday) said, has now started to produce 1Gb DDR2 memory chip with eighty nanometer process. Chip area decreased by 36%.

In the past, Samsung Electronics Using ninety nanometer technology to produce DDR and DDR2 memory chips. After using eighty nanometer process, not only can improve the quality of the chip, at the same time, Samsung Electronics can get more memory chips on the same wafer, thereby reducing product prices.

According to Samsung Electronics, said that at present, the company all the DDR2 memory chips all use eighty nanometer technology. From the beginning of March this year, Samsung Electronics began using eighty nanometer manufacturing process 512Mb memory particles.

In the international semiconductor industry, the use of smaller line width, as well as a larger wafer has become a manufacturer to reduce costs, enhance the competitiveness of a major model.
