Taiwan LED manufacturer authorized white LED Technology Japan Toyoda Gosei company

Taiwan advanced development company (Advanced Optoelectronic Technology, a Taiwan LED packaging company, and Toyoda Gosei) announced that the Japanese company reached a power white LED chip technology agreement. Patent licensing agreement will enable AOT to expand overseas operations.

When in 2005 March, AOT signed a white surface mounted LED cross licensing agreement with the United States Intematix company. Under this agreement, AOT allows the production of white light LED based on Intematix's patented technology, a combination of blue and indium gallium nitride LED suitable for a fluorescent converter.

In 2005, the annual AOT shipments increased 78.7%, but operating profit of only 50.67%, since last year, blue LED prices led to the decline in operating income. More than 50% of AOT's total shipments are available to customers in South Korea, including Samsung Electronics and LG electronics inc..
