The second quarter net profit increase of AU Optronics, a 11 billion 250 million NT

Taiwan's TFT photoelectric LCD panel maker (AUO) announced that the second quarter of 2010, the company's net profit of NT $11 billion 250 million (US $348 million), an increase of 54.6%, and earnings per share of 1.24 yuan nt.

The second quarter, the company's unaudited consolidated revenue of NT $128 billion 586 million, an increase of 15.3%. The company's gross profit increased 42.4% over the previous quarter, reaching NT $20 billion 320 million, while operating profit growth of 62.6%, reaching NT $13 billion 220 million.

According to reports, the first half of 2010, AUO consolidated revenue of NT $240 billion 150 million, net profit of NT $18 billion 520 million, earnings per share of 2.05 yuan nt.

For the second quarter, AUO large size panel shipments reached 29 million 620 thousand, an increase of 8.8%, an increase of 32.2%. Small and medium size panel shipments have more than 55 million 430 thousand films, a decline of 2.7%, but an increase of 8.9%.

The first half of 2010, foreign large size panel shipments reached 56 million 840 thousand, while the small size panel shipments reached 112 million 420 thousand.

AUO has been officially in July 1st the acquisition of Toshiba mobile display (TMD:Toshiba Mobile Display) is located in the Singapore subsidiary of the 4.5 generation line factory. The factory's low-temperature polysilicon (LTPS:low temperature polysilicon) monthly production capacity can reach about 45 thousand, making AUO can better serve the high-end display market.
