The two sides signed a total of LED lighting standards for mutual authentication, signed a letter of intent in Beijing

February 4th, Taiwan Beijing Industrial Technology Research Institute and the national electric light source quality supervision and inspection center in Beijing signed the "cross-strait LED lighting standard detection of mutual authentication intent". This is since the (2009) year after the expansion of the photovoltaic industry plans to bypass the bridge, the two sides to promote the progress of optoelectronic product certification standards for mutual authentication.

According to the letter of intent signed by both parties, in mutual authentication LED standard test, Taiwan will by ITRI LED lighting testing laboratory as a cooperative window, and Beijing national electric light source quality supervision and inspection center, mutual authentication cooperation both LED standard test, the two sides will have high power LED module with standard test method, common establish mutual authentication standard.

Taiwan Economic Department officials said that cross-strait LED lighting standards, once the mutual recognition, the future of LED lighting products, sold to manufacturers in Taiwan, as long as the ITRI test, in the mainland is expected to gain recognition, no need to repeat the test in Taiwan for the LED Street business, great meaning.

However, Ministry of economy of Taiwan also reiterated that the current negotiation just the product of the standard detection of mutual recognition, this part is still the industry standard, does not involve the public power.
